Job Description

Employability Needs for Job Placement

  • Assists in determining youth employability needs through conducting surveys on youth skills, qualifications assessments and career goals;
  • Analyses, evaluates and interprets collected information on market researches to assist youth in targeting the most suitable employment based on their experience, education, and existing labor market factors;
  • Contract s with implementation partners individuals or groups delivering job search and employability training and following up on the outcomes and suggesting developmental actions to achieve the employability goals;
  • Conducts timely follow-ups with youth, resume development, provides repeat one-on-one and group counseling sessions with them to review goals, address problems and ensure progress is being made and perform mock interviews to ensure that the training outcomes are aligned with marketplace needs;
  • Provides effective individual/group job search readiness support and online opportunities resources to all youth, including but not limited to job-fairs, online jobs, internships or job shadowing;
  • Coaches and motivates youth during the job search, guides and supports in the completion of job search tasks;
  • Develops a guidelines booklet on job search and job sustainability with consultants and career counselors;

Partnerships and Networking   

  • Conducts active job search with private and non-governmental sector including cold calling employers, assisting with online applications, researching employers via LinkedIn;
  • Plans and Implements outreach activities to build relations with employers, associations and key players in sectors as needed;
  • Matches employers’ opportunities with youth qualifications and career goals;
  • Engages and connects youth with vocational schools, entrepreneurship programs and other NGOs with employability interventions    and pre-committed job placements;
  • Maintains employers’ relations through different engagement activities with Wataneya;
  • Supports the marketing team in developing employment campaigns through Wataneya’s online channels;
  • Plans and implements employment days and fairs;
  • Develops and implements interventions to raise awareness and advocates for equal opportunities for care leavers while understanding the challenges facing employers that could affect their decisions;

Sustainability of Job Placement

  • Assists in formulating employment MOUs including empowerment standardization and social security;
  • Follows-up on youth’s employment status after the service implementation; collects       and an alyses                employers and youth feedback for best practices and development;
  • Arranges consultation meetings with job developers and experts to discuss backup strategies for youth who did not succeed in getting or keep a job through the job placement service;

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and/or participate in special programs and/or events.
  • Consult with unit Manager concerning challenge/ issues.
  • Submit accurate, timely, written reports.
  • Assist in or handle special assignments as directed.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in job placement, job search and recruitment
  • Experience in career development, employment assessment and case management
  • Knowledge of the current labor market trends, the impact of COVID-19 on the labor market, job search techniques and employment research methods
  • Coaching and counselling skills
  • Excellent communication and outreach skills (Arabic and English) spoken and written to communicate effectively with employers and youth and colleagues by maintaining a solution-focused environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to take initiative, manage change/transition and to meet deadlines
  • Proven documentation and reporting skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Communication:

  • Internal: Maintain close contact with Wataneya’s team, trainers and consultants, and to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions.
  • External: Maintain contact with care leavers, the private and non-governmental sector and other entities with employability interventions, external community groups, care homes and others to ensure successful implementation of the planned interventions/activities/programs and assist in resolving challenges.
