Job Description

The Pre-Sales Manager (IT Solutions) is responsible for leading the technical sales support function, working closely with sales, delivery, and product teams to develop and present customized IT solutions that address client needs. This role is pivotal in bridging business requirements with technical execution, ensuring proposed solutions are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with industry best practices. Key focus areas include solution design, technical writing, RFP/RFI response, and deep involvement in managed services and IT infrastructure environments. The Pre-Sales Manager plays a critical role in winning new business and driving growth across strategic accounts.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Bridge Between Sales and Delivery:
    - Act as the primary liaison between the client, sales, and technical teams.
    - Translate business needs into customized, scalable, and secure technical solutions.
  • Solution Design and Proposal Development:
    - Design end-to-end IT solutions across Managed Services, IT Infrastructure, Cloud, and Digital Platforms.
    - Produce architecture diagrams, integration workflows, and configuration specifications.
  • Client Engagement and Presentations:
    - Lead technical presentations, PoCs (Proof of Concept), and client solutioning workshops.
    - Demonstrate a deep understanding of customer business models, especially in enterprise IT environments.
  • Bid and Tender Support:
    - Lead the technical response for RFPs/RFQs, ensuring alignment with requirements and scoring frameworks.
    - Develop solution descriptions, compliance matrices, and technical clarifications.
  • Technical Writing:
    - Create high-quality technical documentation including:
      - Solution Proposals
      - Scope of Work (SoW)
      - White Papers
      - Operational Models
      - Deployment Architecture
    - Maintain reusable content libraries aligned with brand, compliance, and delivery standards.
  • Cost Estimation and BOQ Development:
    - Build accurate BOQs, sizing, licensing, and cost models for complex managed service contracts and infrastructure deployments.
    - Work with finance, procurement, and engineering teams to validate cost structures.
  • Collaboration with Sales Team:
    - Support opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, and deal strategy.
    - Help identify upsell opportunities within existing IT accounts.
  • Technology & Market Intelligence:
    - Keep up with emerging trends in:
      - Managed Services delivery models (e.g., SLA-based, co-managed IT, NOC/SOC)
      - Enterprise infrastructure (servers, networking, storage, virtualization, cloud, DR)
      - Cybersecurity, Digital Twins, and AI-driven services
  • Internal Enablement & Handover:
    - Train internal technical teams on new solution frameworks and documentation standards.
    - Ensure smooth knowledge transfer from pre-sales to delivery post-contract award.
  • Client Support (Pre-to-Post Sales Transition):
    - Support implementation teams during onboarding and initial execution phases.
    - Participate in change requests and technical refinements as needed.
  • Compliance & Risk Assessment:
    - Ensure proposed solutions comply with regulatory standards (e.g., NCA, ISO 27001, CITC, etc.)
    - Conduct technical risk assessments for service continuity and infrastructure resilience.

Job Requirements

Required Experience:

- Minimum 5–10 years in Pre-Sales, Solution Architecture, or Technical Consulting roles.
- Proven hands-on experience in:
  - Managed Services (e.g., ITSM, NOC/SOC, service desk, monitoring)
  - IT Infrastructure (e.g., data centers, networks, cloud platforms, enterprise IT systems)
- Experience working with vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, Dell, VMware, Fortinet, etc.
