Job Description
The Senior Accountant will manage financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes. This role involves performing reconciliations, supporting audits, managing tax compliance, and providing insights for financial planning. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in improving accounting processes.
1. Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Perform account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and take corrective actions.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
- Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
- Monitor outstanding payments and collections, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
3. Budgeting and Financial Planning:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, forecast financial performance, and analyze variances.
- Provide insights and recommendations for effective resource allocation and cost control.
- Collect and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and business performance metrics.
4. Tax Compliance and Audit Support:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines.
- Manage internal and external audits by preparing required reports and coordinating with auditors.
5. Process Improvement and System Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and procedures, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices and support the adoption of new financial tools and systems.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with other departments to streamline financial operations and improve reporting accuracy.
- Provide financial expertise and support to business units as needed.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 4-6 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and related roles.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying discrepancies and trends.
- Excellent multitasking and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting tools (e.g., Google Sheets, Zoho).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethics and standards.
Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting processes, and tax regulations.
- Experience in managing accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and financial closings.
Certifications: A CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
