Engineer - QA/QC (Electrical & Instrumentation)

Job Description

As a QA/QC Engineer specializing in Electrical and Instrumentation, you will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering and construction works meet quality standards and comply with relevant specifications and regulations.

Your role will involve developing quality control plans, conducting inspections, and ensuring that both materials and workmanship adhere to the project requirements.

You will collaborate closely with project teams to implement and maintain quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement quality control plans specific to electrical and instrumentation work.
Conduct regular inspections and audits on site to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to enforce quality standards and compliance.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports and non-conformance reports.
Identify potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Conduct training and awareness sessions on quality assurance standards and practices for project teams.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on quality assurance activities.

Skills And Tools Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in quality assurance and quality control in electrical and instrumentation projects, preferably in the oil and gas or construction industries.
Strong knowledge of international and industry-specific standards such as ISO, IEC, and ASTM.
Familiarity with inspection techniques and testing methods specific to electrical and instrumentation systems.
Proficient in using quality management software and tools for documentation and reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
Certification in quality management or equivalent (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
