OverviewSeeking a seasoned Infrastructure Director with a proven track record to oversee the implementation, plan, organise, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and DevOps Services. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of infrastructure, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure system reliability, and streamline development processes to support our organizational objectives. This position will provide overall strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of IT Infrastructure operations and DevOps services, including hardware design and delivery, network technologies, server and storage, WAN, LAN, system administration, collaboration, directory services, and alignment to regulatory compliance requirements.Core42 is the UAE’s national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI, combining G42 Group’s expertise across multiple technology disciplines into a single platform for public sector and large enterprise transformations. Building on our capabilities as sovereign cloud and HPC specialist, we bring generative AI, cybersecurity, professional and managed services expertise to enable national-scale program deployments across industries.Responsibilities Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive infrastructure strategy aligned with business goals. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. Plan, direct and manage the operation of systems and network infrastructure. Including Windows and Linux servers, application servers, database servers, file and print servers, backup services, hosted email and gateways, DNS, DHCP and Active Directory. Manage and maintain the enterprise storage and Storage Area Network (SAN) environment including troubleshooting, performance planning, capacity, and continuity planning. Maintain the enterprise virtualization environment (VMware), including troubleshooting, performance monitoring and optimization, capacity, high availability and continuity planning. Maintain Disaster Recovery infrastructure and documentation, ensuring systems and applications are adequately protected according to their SLAs. Schedule, run, and report on Annual Disaster Recovery tests. Manage and oversee the planning, design, implementation and documentation of all new infrastructure projects and upgrades to existing infrastructure. Provide regular project status updates on schedule, budget, and deliverables in Project Steering Committee meetings Develop standards and operational procedures that support current and future operational needs. Develop and implement departmental metrics and uptime statistics. Ensure timely resolution of service incidents and completion of service requests. Develop and implement IT Change Management procedures. Manage and oversee the planning and deployment of updates to production applications, and post-production confirmation of successful implementation. Manage the production support function including establishing procedures, monitoring, troubleshooting issues and escalation with vendors and internal teams. Lead and mentor a team of DevOps support engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to enhance development pipelines, automation, and release management Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, LXC, Rocket Working with Application Operations, platform architects and the Microsoft Azure product group to understand business and technical needs Implement the DevOps roadmap and measure success via key performance indicators agreed with other Engineering Managers Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering or computer science or equivalent experience preferred Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing infrastructure and DevOps functions. 7+ years’ experience in IT management positions 7+ years’ experience managing Windows / Linux server & MS SQL Server database environments In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure technologies. 5+ years’ experience managing Hybrid Cloud Infrastructures – VMware/Azure/AWS/GCP Experience managing enterprise-scale identity and access management solutions such as Active Director and federation with 3rd-party IAM for Single Sign on, inclusive of multifactor authentication. 10+ years’ experience and understanding of virtualization platforms and technologies Proven experience in developing an infrastructure strategy and executing infrastructure change management principles Experience with modern networking / firewall and storage technologies such as Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar, NetApp Clustered Ontap or similar Experience with managing infrastructure for SQL and SQL Database platforms such as MS-SQL, My-SQL, MongoDB, or similar Experience establishing and managing SOC and NOC standards, policies and operating procedures Experience in creating disaster recovery plans for both on premise and cloud infrastructures. Strong background in implementing and managing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 6+ years of experience in supporting DevOps environments Excellent communication, conceptual, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving abilities and organizational skills Judgment and Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate direction in support of our business Complex Problem Solving – Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives and drive organizational change.
