Standards and practices

Domain Strategy and Prioritization

Define data domain structure and scope

Determine official sources of data

Manage data in official source (e.g. data quality, remediation)

Domain Standards and Compliance

Define access permission plan and monitor distribution of data from the domain

Approving data provisioning to authorized users

Support data users as a SME (subject matter expert) of data in domain

Review and implement data quality standards and compliance with standards

Quality/metadata

Build and maintain metadata

Build and maintain data catalog

Build and maintain business glossary for data elements

Build and maintain data lineage and technical metadata for data elements (long-term)

Identify need for changes in metadata within data domain

Data Quality Rules and Execution

Ensure overall data quality for the data domain

Identify and prioritize CDEs using criteria established

Assign level of protection classifications to data elements

Define business rules for data quality within data domain

Prioritize data quality issues to remediate and analyze root cause
