Role: Head of PMOSector: BankingLocation: BahrainRole type: PermanentSalary: up to £150,000 GBP per annum + excellent BenefitsPlease note that this role is based in Bahrain.Our Banking industry client is looking for an experienced Head of PMO to join them on a permanent basis. This role is paying a very competitive salary and the ideal candidate will have UK banking experience.The role involves PMO Governance to ensure adherence to the established PMO guidelines and procedures including initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing of the bank’s projects. The role also involves advisory / supervisory responsibilities [to project managers / leaders] on the respective projects.This role will be based in Bahrain.Principal Responsibilities To form strong and credible relationships with critical stakeholders, and maintain open lines of discussion, without compromising on the integrity of PMO role.To monitor project costs / timelines and provide periodic status reports of project governance independent and proactive monitoring, feedback, support and sharing of standardize documentation, sharing of best practices and ensuring each project follows the banks approved delivery lifecycle as a PMO ManagerTo systematically review performance data and engage directly with Project Managers and senior personnel alike, ensuring that Project Managers maintain a strong delivery, cost and timelines discipline.To ensure documentation and process control adhering to the audit guidelines and Terms of References.To guide the business through the project initiation process, ensuring the no project is initiated which hasn’t been formally approved.To ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of the budget from a control and compliance standpointManaging the project plan, the project budget and documenting issues/change requestsCo-ordinate with all stakeholders for respective projects for effective monitoring / resolution / escalationFocus on project ROI and Post-Project Implementation Review.The identification, assessment and monitoring of project related risks. To evaluate the severity of risks and issues, noting deterioration via an ongoing aged assessment of risks and issues, and ensure escalation into the respect committee for awareness, discuss and support where required.Adequate documentation as required during the project life cycle to ensure compliance and tracking.To ensure project categorization, tracking and monitoring based on complexity, priority, and budgets.To provide insightful portfolio health reports to respect stakeholders and senior personnel.To review the Project Status report and ensure that it is discussed on a periodic basis in project steering committee meetings and a formal report is submitted to GITSC highlighting matters requiring attention, including a status on the identified project risks.Competencies: Diligence in documentation and reportingAnalytical and Numerical skillsTechnical Skills on MS Office (Excel, PPT, Visio and Project Planner)Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills - Bilingual (English / Arabic will be an advantageA strategic and critical thinker.
