Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:


As the guardian of performance for Cairo site, this role is 2-dimensional managing both the site portfolio & operational excellence. Strategically, it involves managing the life cycle of existing portfolio and introduction of new products in a simplified optimized manner. Operationally, it ensures challenging the status quo, supporting, developing and pushing the team to the highest level of performance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


Portfolio management:


  • Manage the portfolio of projects (programs and initiatives) that support the site and the overall Sanofi strategy
  • Responsible for the performance of the project portfolio and provides analyzes on the added value of projects carried out on the site according to the occupancy & investment plans of the site
  • Portfolio governance: establish, continuously monitor and ensure the effectiveness of the portfolio management process. Promote best practices in the design, monitoring and delivery of complex programs and projects
  • Portfolio roadmap design and execution: design, develop and execute the site portfolio roadmap, closely aligned with the site and corporate strategic plans. This will include the prioritization of projects, management of human and logistical resources as well as constraints
  • Change management: serve as the entry point for any proposed changes to the portfolio of projects and resources, including scope, budget, schedule, resources, risks and monitoring any problems encountered
  • Program risk management: determine resource and schedule constraints, the main risks and issues to be resolved and proactively propose the development of remediation and / or risk mitigation plans
  • Generics architecture: develop, implement and manage an effective standardized approach to generics project management with respect to availability of CMC file, preliminary studies, quality of design, compliance with company standards, major milestones and costs (including capital and operational costs) and resources

External manufacturing:


  • Lead the initiation of all toll out activity till completion of process validation. This includes all compliance and legal processes involved
  • Oversee the submission of all technical and HSE information and support to the external manufacturer
  • Assess different CMO’s according to manufacturing needs

Manufacturing excellence:


  • Accountable to develop and execute the performance excellence roadmap
  • Set–up the industrial improvement goals at site level followed by initiating and implementing the operational change management projects that enable the achievement of these goals
  • Propose initiatives that support the troubleshooting and debottlenecking of process flows related to equipment, as well as being the site TOP owner (Tool for Occupancy Planning)

Strategy:


  • Accountable for coordinating the annual site long range planning cycle. Lead the site strategy cascading, ensuring alignment across all levels

Industrial culture:


  • Contribute to the promotion of a performance mind-set and process ownership

Performance reporting:


  • Liaise with Finance to ensure the coherence of the performance pack and 3P with the financial results

People management:


  • Set the annual priorities with each team member
  • Individually coach the team and develop the feedback culture
  • Support setting of the different development plans
  • Conduct the annual year-end assessment as per the defined schedule

HSE Responsibilities:


  • Follow the approved HSE policy and requirements
  • Assure that the risk assessment of any new transferred product &/or process is carried out & assess its impact on the environment
  • Follow the statutory legislation concerning Health, Safety and environmental law
  • Waste management according to the approved system

Job Holder Requirements:


Education:


  • B.Sc. of Pharmaceutical science

Related Experience:


  • 10 or more years of related industrial experience
  • experience in SMS / Lean is preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:


  • Results based leadership skills with strong impact and influencing skills
  • Products transfer guidelines
  • Planning/ forecasting
  • Change management skills with shop floor orientation
  • Strong analytical skills and process focus to identify where improvements should be targeted using dat.
  • Ability to function within a diverse team and leverage and learn from the variety of backgrounds and experiences
  • Problem solving & organization skills
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a coherent and accessible format to senior management
  • Exposure to SAP / supply systems is an advantage
