Accountant - Graduate

Role Overview:Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing: Perform cost analysis and forecasting for projects, providing insights to project managers and stakeholders. Monitor project financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation. Be the subject matter expert in the revenue recognition practices and billing terms and conditions of all assigned contracts. Stay updated on IFRS accounting standards related to Project Accounting. Understand the definition of milestone accounting. Analyze expenses to ensure appropriate revenue and expense recognition. Be a resource to the project team to develop and improve financial processes related to the overall Project Management oversight. Provide accounting and administrative services including treatment of accounts payables and receivables; Provide specific financial reports and reconciliations; Produce financial statements; Follow-up & Prepare tax claims and liaison with provincial and federal revenue agencies; Manage the audit process including interaction with external auditors; Prepare tax documentation and interact with tax authorities; and Perform additional duties as required to insure timely flow of funds and compliant reporting under all project agreements.We're ideally seeking:The Successful ApplicantQualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldStrong understanding of construction accounting principles, including WIP reporting and contract managementProficient in accounts receivable and collections practicesExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environmentProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
