Join WSP, and you’ll be at the heart of a team of international experts all dedicated to growing and sharing their expertise and working on projects that transform society for all of us.WSP Middle East are currently looking for a Senior Design Manager that specialises in Water Parks for a Theme Park PMC project in Saudi Arabia.Your new role, what's involved?Oversee a team of design managers, BIM managers, architects, engineers, landscape architects, and technical specialists to provide overall professional support on the project and resolve technical issues in areas of specialization In coordination with the Client, develop COP/BOD documentationSupport the technical director on overall technical management to ensure that the project design requirements are being adhered to and understood by all functions Conduct regular meetings and workshops to guage project progress and resolve issuesManage and record project progress through the generation and distribution of project documentation such as minutes of meeting; recommendation reports; design reports and others as neededOversee the sustainability engagement on the project inline with LEED/SITES requirementsSupport in resolving all technical issues raised by the Design Consultants such as RFIs and design queriesManage the processing of all design submission by the Contractor such as Shop drawings, design calculations and other technical deliverablesCoordinate with the Lead Design Consultant, Thematic Design Consultant, Attraction Design Consultant(s) and Aquatic Engineer to ensure the Design submissions are meeting the requirements to be released for Construction use Manage the Design Guardians sub-Consultant and ensure the project maintains “Look & Feel” and design intentManage the budget and resource allocation of Design Guardian Sub-Consultants to ensure sufficient resource coverage up until project completionEnsure the use of BIM across the project is optimized and the Contractor develops the BIM deliverables as per the LOD requirementsManage the design related Request for Decisions (RFD) ensuring technical matters are resolved and communicated to the Client for approval where requiredOversight of the Testing & Commissioning and handover phase to facilitate project closeout and taking over certificationEnsure that NOC, authority approvals and building permits are attained prior to construction by coordinating closely with stakeholder management teamConduct thorough technical reviews on design submission where required in coordination with the master planner, LDC, TDC, ADC, AE and PMO and other stakeholdersOversee the Design To Budget obligations of Consultants within the project through regular pulse checks in coordination with the Cost Management ConsultantConduct value engineering workshops to optimize the design and ensure constructabilityDevelop Design Scope of Works and Project briefs in coordination with the procurement department for packages undergoing tenderingOversee and manage the Engineer of Records (EOR) where applicableWe'd love to hear from you if you have:Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural, Engineering or technical fieldAt least 10 years of experience in technical roles on mega-scale projectsICE, RIBA or equivalent certification is strongly preferredStrong track record in delivering projects in a fast-moving and challenging environmentExcellent command of written and spoken EnglishAble to work under pressure and tight deadlinesExcellent communication and organization skillsWhat's in it for you?What if we can have work-life balance?
