Job Description

How You’ll Make An ImpactDuring bid/proposal stage, responsibilities include:Participating in project/sales meetings as a core team member to influence at an early stage from budget phase; determining best costs for go to market; optimizing supply base; optimizing internal workflows and processes; creating project procurement concepts and plans, expand vendor data base and drive alternate sourcing. Analyzing inquiries during bid preparation/opportunity management phase; understanding the customer’s functional needs, to include supplier innovations that improve cost positions and customer benefits.Supporting project cost calculations/estimations with reliable material cost data.Contribute to project cost optimization by value engineering propositions.Initiate the Project Procurement Plan to document baseline information.Support QA/QC team for Audit and pre-qualification process for new suppliersDuring project execution stage, responsibilities include:Establishing proper sourcing processes and controlling all procurement resources and activities within the project; optimizing delivery and cost (procurement plans, target costing) and assuring adherence to deadlines and quality.Applying procurement regulations as per compliance and organization standards.Analyzing scope of supply and contract agreements, carrying out risk analyses, and introducing negotiation recommendations together with commodity management, to prepare for negotiations with suppliers and to initiate appropriate measures. Driving procurement strategies (eg: enter Frame Contracts, pooling, eAuction) and ensuring their implementation.Update project procurement plan to document strategy and execution details.Leading contractual and pricing negotiations and/or supporting the buyers responsible for material fields (in particular, those not covered by any Commodity Management) to secure project targets with optimal conditions.Clarifying internal indicators for project controlling and compiling all relevant information to submit qualified reports (e.g. for the project team, procurement management team).Providing supplier information to the project and conducting project-specific supplier evaluations (project evaluations).Identifying procurement risks, opportunities, and market forces during the project, together with commodity management, to avoid potential damage and identify potential opportunities through tailored risk and claim management. What You BringBachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (preferably in Electrical/Instrumentation/Electronics & Communication/Automation engineering) Has 10+ years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control systems industry/projects especially in the Oil and Gas or Utilities sector.Must have key know-how in common commodities & components in specialized fields (Electrical: Generators, transformers, HV, MV & LV switch gear, motors, UPS, DCS, ICSS, telecom, HVAC, Fire Detection and alarm system, containerized substations, Control and relay panels, Automation products and accessories, Process instrumentation).Notable execution experience with suppliers within the Oil and Gas industry, both local & international is preferred. Possess a high degree of problem-solving abilities and joined-up thinking, along with an analytical, pragmatic, and enthusiastic mindset. Good negotiating and persuasion skills. Ability to understand the impact of early procurement involvement and supplier integration and strives to influence sourcing decisions in the sense of Procurement objectives.Has the ability to breakdown in detail the material cost structure and drivers and have sufficient knowledge about technology and application to profoundly challenge technical specifications versus R&D and customers. Excellent communication skills as the position requires you to interact closely between suppliers & internal stake holders (Sales- Project Execution – Commercial – Cross functional unitsProficient in SAP/ MS Office tools & applications, for reporting purpose.Willing to travel nationally and internationally.Who is Siemens Energy?At Siemens Energy, we are more than just an energy technology company.
