Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to a strong pipeline of projects, our Abu Dhabi team is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to undertake a variety of projects across the region.
In this role you will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team across a variety of infrastructure, buildings, transport and other project type:

Execution  Ensures graduate team members are adhering to delivery standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own industry. Uses discretion within set boundaries (operating procedures, processes, standards) to execute own tasks within a narrower job area to achieve defined deadlines / targets in the most effective and efficient way. Is required to coordinate activities with peers in same discipline to meet deadlines and achieve set targets in the most effective and efficient way.
Problem Solving Applies knowledge and skill to solve problems based on practice and precedent; typically resolves standard or routine problems using existing solutions and methodologies with limited supervision. Applies existing knowledge and experience to solve more routine technical problems independently.
Project Scope May be called upon to be responsible for smaller or routine projects (as defined in QA100) in the role of Project Manager.
Business Development/Client Contact  Maintaining client relationships and ensuring client loyalty and repeat work through excellent customer service and delivery. 
People Management May provide informal guidance to graduates or interns (not a job requirement). Is responsible for managing personal contribution only within own team with guidance from supervisor or senior team member.
Communication Communicates on progress of delegated project assignment (a portion of the overall project) to others in the team who are dependent on their deliverable / contribution to proactively raise issues that may affect completion of the overall project in a timely manner; or communicates progress on specific tasks, and reports on issues that may arise that could cause delays / obstacles in a timely manner.
Direction Received Decisions and problem-solving are guided by operating policies, processes and procedures for the Region; receives guidance from Business Group Leader and Supervisor; or decisions are guided by the project requirements; receives guidance from Supervisor and Project Director or Project Manager. Plus, receives supervision and general review of deliverables.

 Competencies

• Educational Background: A bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Professional experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing hydraulic systems including drainage, water supply & firefighting for various applications and a Proven track record of successfully completed hydraulic engineering projects.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and tools including Revit, Autocad & Elite softwares.
• In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, pipe flow, pump selection, and hydraulic system design.
• Familiarity with stormwater management, water distribution systems, and wastewater systems.
• Knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to hydraulic engineering.
• Experience ensuring projects comply with relevant regulations and permitting requirements.
• Basic knowled of HVAC related works including HAP calculation.
• Report writing expertise.
