Accountant - General Accounts

Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field (with equivalency by the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education)Minimum of 4 years of experience in the same or related field.Proficient in English and Arabic.Key Accountabilities:Maintain the general ledger by reflecting transactions into the appropriate accounts in the chart of accounts and providing sufficient details and supporting documents for individual transactions. Support Unit Head – General Accounts in preparing periodic Trial Balances to produce accurate financial statements and to ensure the proper management of the general ledger.Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Prepare and reconcile ledger reports periodically in addition to creating the final trial balance to ensure quality and efficiency in the deliverables. Manage the KFAS’s outgoing payments to vendors, verify invoices, and reflect transactions on the KFAS’s accounts payable. Validate all vendor invoices and prepare for approval to ensure a smooth and efficient payment process. Participate in physical verification of fixed assets, register new assets, and maintain them in KFAS records; assist in the evaluation of fixed assets, adjusting for depreciation as per fixed asset accounting policy. Handle cash flow and petty cash and ensure that all transactions are recorded clearly. Record all transactions related to payroll.Alert the Unit Head - General Accounts of any accounting discrepancies, ensure they are differences are investigated, remediated under their guidance.Support Unit Head – General Accounts in period end financial closing procedures and preparing period-end adjusting entries periodic financial reports with proper adjustments.Support Unit Head – General Accounts in preparing financial and management reports such as the unaudited balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statement, along with their accompanying footnotes.Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with the filing policies and procedures. Execute daily transfers. Support external and internal auditors testing and review of accounting records and promptly close audit areas relevant to General Accounts Unit.
