Senior Legal Counsel (United Arab Emirates)

Yandex is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Legal Counsel to oversee our high-tech products, B2C online services, and other projects in the United Arab Emirates.Tasks that await youManaging a variety of legal business matters, organizing and advising on appropriate legal action such as regulatory initiatives in the area of online services (search engine, apps, educational services, media, and more), intermediate liability, intellectual property, and privacy and data protection regulationCommunicating with UAE regulatory authoritiesApplying relevant expertise in practical areas such as complex service transactions, compliance, and regulatory mattersProviding practical legal risk mitigation strategies for the company’s products across the UAE jurisdictionAdvising on legal matters regarding the operations of the company’s online services, their core features, IP and privacy issues, and litigation and arbitrationCoordinating legal tasks handled by outside counselWe expect that youHave a law degree from a UAE universityHave four to five years of relevant experienceAre fluent in Arabic and EnglishAre a permanent resident in the UAEHave solid risk assessment skillsHave strong competence and confidence to influence, persuade, communicate, and negotiateHave additional experience on litigating legal matters, preferably disputes involving the tech industryAre able to manage relationships with outside counselHave strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitaskIt'd be a plus if youHave experience working in an IT companyHave experience at a top-tier law firm, government agency, and/or in-house legal departmentHave an LLM degreeHave experience working independently and cross-functionallyAre fluent in Russian
