Job Description

A Snapshot of Your DayThe Industry Lead for Oil and Gas, Chemicals and Process Design will provide strategic direction, leadership, and coordination of the process design function across units within the EAD Business.Initiate, coordinate, drive and oversee team competency development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the market approach and design capability.Ensure assigned design operations are performed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, cost/profitability targets and scheduling targets.How You’ll Make An ImpactStrategy and organizational leadership:Define the Oil, Gas & Chemicals industry strategy in line with the overall business strategy and ensure operational development.Provide guidance to global EAD business strategy and be a key player in its implementation and in strengthening a business model relevant to the scope of process design.Ensure development of performance targets in line with global/local targets and their achievement through regular check-ins, defining required actions for improvement.Evaluate opportunities, decides, and facilitate appropriate strategic activities across local units based on a global perspective.Customer and salesEstablish contacts with customers at a senior level and develop long term relationships with key customers, working on a strategic level.Collaborate with customers to articulate opportunities and develop solutions, bringing innovative technologies and processes to deliver customer benefit.Present new technology and innovation at conferences, client events.Work with business development to negotiate strategic agreements.Lead sales activities to win major consulting.Technical leadership and developmentGuide the EAD Business in building operational capability through training, mentoring and shadowing programs.Support regions in establishing and deploying required frameworks.Conduct and follow-up certification, where required.Ensure processes are in place to capture and share standard methodologies and operational experiences.Serve as a point of escalation for individual and systemic engineering/ operational issues within the organization.Technical ConsultingOversee the development of special technology, consulting services and solutions to meet the customer's needs.Oversees and delivers challenging and major assignments including collaboration within and across different units.People leadership and developmentBe a role model to ensure all leadership, EHS standards and integrity policies are strictly adhered to and followed.Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.Guide, motivate, coach, and develop direct and indirect team members.Methods and riskInitiate, coordinate, drive, and oversees continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.Ensures the portfolio of projects/operations value chain follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and that projects are closed as per contracts.Conduct regular progress reviews, identifies, and manages technical risks.Create and implements strategies to ensure that business/technical risks are identified and managed, and business opportunities are exploited as a part of business planning.Monitor quality metrics, finds opportunities for improvement and supervises improvement activities.Supervises planning and control process in the design teams.Conducts regular reviews to ensure the execution of tenders/projects according to agreed targets in terms of schedule, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.Collaborates with the supply chain function to develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers of services and equipment needed for design.What You BringA bachelor's degree in engineering or IT or other relevant subject area experience of 15+ years.You love leading and connecting people, redefining cultures, and shifting businesses into new growth fields.You have strong eye for business with a good sense for future markets, our core industry and understanding customer value drivers and how to capture and monetize them.You have a track record in building high performance teams, and you find lean solutions to complex challenges leading to the best result for our company as a whole.You successfully built and led process design teams in the past.Representing the business at executive level is nothing new for you as well as trustfully connecting with partners and customers.A state-of-the art approach to virtual teamwork is your strength and you use lean approaches to implement strategies and create followers in a matrix organization.You make no compromises in Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, and good leadership practices.About The TeamWho is Siemens Energy?At Siemens Energy, we are more than just an energy technology company.
