The Level 2 Technician is to manage the site installation or fault restoration; either alone or as a lead of L1 technicians, within a scope of work defined by Project or Operations management to a successful conclusion proactively resolving situational problems across the range of Viasat Energy ServicesThe level 2 Technician will have good practical knowledge of Viasat Energy Services core services and technologies with site-related manufacturer equipment encompassing managed service, marine & land satellite services; and of regionally variant services including LTE, fixed & stabilized LOS radio, and associated Rig Telecommunications systems; a practical understanding of CE IP Network service with the ability to complete minor work independently and work under instruction for more advanced requirements.The Level 2 technician will be expected to advance through independent study of technical materials and company supplied in house training courses. The Technician will ensure that RigNet: documentation, process, compliance, QHSE, training & company values are the foremost of all work undertaken.The day-to-dayPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Installation, commissioning & fault diagnostics of GEO VSAT fixed single and dual Antenna Systems. Installation, commissioning & fault diagnostics of GEO VSAT auto acquisition antenna systems Installation, commissioning & fault diagnostics of GEO VSAT stabilized single - Seatel or Intellian & other product range. Commissioning & fault diagnosis of single & multiple carrier services on the above systems related to specific manufacturer Satellite access technologies for SCPC, Newtec, IDirect, CnC * Installation commissioning of HTS VSAT systems such as GX * Installation, basic troubleshooting & configuration of Viasat Energy Services managed Network Lan infrastructure on site. Installation, commissioning, and fault diagnostics of Out of Band system. Complies with all Viasat Energy Services, customer and regional compliance, HS&E and QA policies and regulations. Maintains all requested Viasat Energy Services documentation and reporting procedures Completes Viasat Energy Services-associated technical training to within acceptable levelsWhat You'll NeedUniversity Bachelor Degree or College Associate Degree in Electrical / Communications / Computer discipline or equivalent experienceCompany apprenticeship or vocational training as part of a structured training program within similar technology company profile.Experience of 1-2 years recognized industry experience with demonstrated success at the level.Specific manufacturer training or recognized Viasat technology training ( GVF & Cisco Network eg ICND1 , Stabilised terminal & satellite access technology certifications).PC literate - Windows Applications etc o Skilled Electrical installation of infrastructure including rack, junction boxes, cables ( coax, Ethernet, fiber, signal & electrical) including termination of all connectors to within manufacturer specifications o Competent use of associated installation and test equipment ( spectrum analyzer, power meter, DVM, etc ). o Fluent English is written and spoken preferred.Effective communication to line manager, Project manager ( external & internal ) and client stakeholdersStructured problem-solving abilities in a pressured environment o Valid Drivers license for the country (Saudi) you are working inSaudi nationallity or transferrable visa for the country (Saudi) you are expected to working inWhat Will Help You On The JobNAEEO statementViasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
