Job Description

To maintain the safety and security of DHC facilities, assets, and personnel including patients and employees.Roles and ResponsibilitiesPlanning and StrategyEnsure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructionsIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvementEnsure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely mannerBudget Management Develop budget requirements ensuring alignment to plans and needsSafety ServicesLead development of safety programs in line with accreditation requirements and identified gapsAlign with Quality and Patient Safety on hazard control processes Ensure availability of engineering controls (including machine guarding, safety interlocks, fire alarms, etc.), administrative controls (including safe work practices/job procedures), and personal protective equipment (including eye protection, fire resistant clothing, chemical resistant gloves, etc.)Lead health and safety inspections to ensure compliance to pre-set guidelines, standards, and accreditation requirementsEstablish emergency response system and oversee implementation when neededLead investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions for incidents and / or sentinel eventsDesign safety manual highlighting all relevant safety policies, priorities, and responsibilitiesSecurity ServicesLead development of Security programs for DHC’s facilities and personnelOversee all security systems for facilities, staff, and patients to distinguish authorized visitors from potential security threatsEstablish surveillance system (including coverage over key areas, stairs, corners, etc.), with video analytics including smart search feature to aid in identifying immediate concerns, and intruder alarm systems, and lead cross-functional collaboration with IT as neededManage continuous inspections of security equipment and source maintenance as neededEvaluate performance based on KPIs and SLAs and create reports highlighting areas of improvementPeople ManagementOptimize resources and ensure team is efficient and provide recommendations for improvementContribute to employee performance management, and provide formal and informal feedback to support professional development and maximize performanceRequirementsKnowledge and Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience is required with 5+ years in a managerial role is preferredEducation and Certifications:A Bachelor in Business or related field is requiredA Master’s in Business or related field preferredAn MBA is preferred
