Laboratory Supervisor

Duties And ResponsibilitiesOversees, supervises and resolves technical and administrative issues associated with technical and ancillary staff within assigned units of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Directs laboratory operations in accordance with MOH, Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions, Joint Commission International and College of American Pathologist. Ensures that all tests and procedures are performed in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures and that results are valid and accurate prior to release. Oversees timekeeping and attendance of staff and reports noncompliance with policy. Making and checking staff schedule, approval of leave, Excuse and hand punch correction. Share in the revision of Departmental Policies and Procedures to ensure conformity with international best practice, and complete all procedure manual related with assigned units.. Prepares performance evaluation and Competency assessment for all technical staff in assigned units of the laboratory. Actively participates in service training for all new staff (job shadowing) and ensures they are fully oriented to hospital, department and position and that all probationary requirements are met. Oversees the ongoing development and implementation of job orientation and competency training for all technical staff within assigned units of the department. Oversees the quality accuracy and efficiency. and quantity of work provided by technical staff and identifies areas for improvements in utilization, Checks compliance of staff regarding delta check process before reporting any results. Develops instructional programs in area of responsibility to ensure all staff maintain knowledge of current technique, procedures and instrument operation. Directs supply activities relative to receiving, rejecting, verifying and updating items used by assigned units. Checks the adequacy and viability oflaboratory supplies and takes corrective action to deal with substandard items if needed. Manages equipment maintenance effectively and keeps downtime to acceptable limits, and assures timeliness of PPM visits. Daily review of QC and corrective action if needed. Responsible for CAP PT distribution, submission and reviewing results in area of responsibility. Establishes laboratory protocol for implementing new procedures or new tests in time. Performs job description of technologist at his/her unit as per work need. Other duties as assigne0 within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job. Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to the patients as "the patient is the center of our care" Qualifications: Education: Bachelor degree of Medical Technology, Medical Science, or equivalent education' in Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Biological Science. Experience: four years of experience in same position, or as laboratory technologist/technician Language: Fluency in written & spoken English & Arabic Required Licenses/Registrations: licensed by Saudi Commission for healthcare specialties (SCFHS) .
