ResponsibilitiesSupports the Principal and Vice Principal in the implementation of the campus’s policies, procedures, and processesLeads, trains, guides and supports teachers the department and oversees their career development in conjunction with the Principal and Vice Principal, making recommendations for appropriate in-service training.Responsible for reviewing textbooks from different publishers, making recommendations on alternative textbooks as per modification of subjects’ syllabus, and getting approval from the Principal and National Head, AcademicsReviews the lesson plans and examination papers developed by the teachers, provides inputs, ensures alignment with the curriculum guidelines and gets approval from the PrincipalEvaluates the examination question papers and marking schemes and any discrepancy/variation in answers can be accepted only after discussion with the other Head of Departments, who in turn will ensure that the same information is communicated to all the teachersMaintain utmost confidentiality of the exam questions and marking schemeEnsure subject syllabus is covered as per schedule and its content is uniformly covered in all sections of a particular classEnsure number of periods spend on a particular content/subject are equally distributed among all sections of a particular classConducts departmental meetings and apprise members of updates from the Board on any changes in their respective subjectsMaintains a register on Meeting Agenda and Meeting MinutesMonitors the performance of the students in the department, reviews feedback for the teachers in the department, and develops corrective action plans, if required
