Job Description

Job DescriptionProject ManagerThe Project Manager will be accountable for the on-time delivery of both product and documentation ensuring there is a complete understanding of the project scope and requirements. The incumbent will own the project's critical path, mitigating risk as and when needed. They will handle all change orders and target an overall margin uplift for the project through its execution. Good communication is crucial to ensure effective management of all customers.The role forms part of our Project Management Office (PMO) organization and is the primary customer focal point. You will have the overall responsibility and authority for the implementation and execution of Customer projects. He / She is responsible for the entire process from the Bid /Quote clarification phase until cash collection. This includes having ownership for timely delivery and profitability.Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:Develop and lead the Project Plan that includes schedules, achievements, procurement strategy, execution strategy, financial targets, resources, communications, and considerations of risks.Coordinate manufacturing sites through effective planning scheduling and managementLeading critical path and running execution riskCoordinate cross-functional project teamsWork to finalize completion of the project including the MRO handoff, documentation, lessons learned and project closeoutLead internal and external communication for Tier 3 (high Complexity) & Tier 2 (medium complexity) project orders.Own the customer post-award meeting when the order is committed to Emerson. Lead the Internal Kick-Off meeting to resolve all open issues and provide clarity on the execution plan.Coordinate Pre-Inspection meetings with the Customer’s Inspector and achieve clarity to the inspection requirements and process.Liaise with IPM to coordinate the inspections at the factory.Interface and connect with the customer/sales office to provide updates, landmarks, and progress appropriately.Ensure alignment with the partners on the Commitment Date and the Customer PO Dates including achievement dates for drawing and procedure submittals, drawing and procedures approvals, equipment inspection notifications, and “Ready for Inspection” dates.Participate in joint project review/discussion with the pursuit team.Minimize exposure to penalties, and familiarity with contract law and regulations.Work to ensure costs are led and wherever possible, that still allows the project to meet customer requirements, action should be taken to avoid costs.Negotiate/influence internally or externally for the initial scope of the project, change order, progress payments, terms and conditions and all additions or expectations to the project.Efficiently led change orders for improved financial performance of the project.Support document controllers (DC) for timely submission of DocumentsEnsures on-time approval of documents for manufacturing, inspection, and shipping.Who you are:You are an effective communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills.You are willing to take action and self-starting individual.What do I need to be considered for this role?5+ years of relevant Project Management or Application Engineering experience in engineering space.Experience in successful management of multisite, multi-country projects.Ability to remain calm under pressure, acknowledge mistakes, and possess emotional intelligence/diplomacy.Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:PMP Certification or other equivalent project management, certification is preferred.Our Offer to You:We recognize the importance of employee wellbeing and know that to do your best you have flexible, competitive benefit plans to meet you and your family’s physical, mental, financial, and social needs.
