What you'll Do Manages Power Plant to perform Medium/High-voltage (415 volt to 11 kV) electrical work involving the installation, operation, maintenance, repair and testing of high voltage electrical power generation and distribution systems to include facilities and related systems, transformers, generators, switchgears, metering and control systems, equipment, machinery and power tools to within acceptable national (NEC) and local (MEW) codes, safety rules and electrical standards. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus on a quality product. Follows the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other directives when ensuring tasks are accomplished. Ensures personnel complete all tasks in accordance with the local Environmental, Safety and Health directives. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel against work performed to reduce manpower expenditure. Provides leadership and mentors junior personnel to develop appropriate skillsets. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Uses provided Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to correctly input data related to maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency/urgent customer requests. Ensures personnel correctly capture data on maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance inspection forms for upload into Maximo. Has additional responsibility to manage O&M Electrical. Key Responsibilities: Supervises various trades and skill levels in performance of assigned Accountable for, and ensures a safe and effective operation of the power plant Establishes a proactive maintenance program per NEC and manufacturer’s recommendations, specifications to reduce/eliminate unscheduled Uses a CMMS database to track work orders, request material and update work order statuses as Analyzes equipment data and trends; along with team members input, formulates maintenance program Coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, generator, transformer, switchgear, power grid, substation and load center Prepares estimates of time, labor and material requirements for various Develops plans, prepares and execute schedules for preventative maintenance and routine testing of high-voltage distribution system Serves as the subject matter expert, works with technicians as they test circuits, power grids, transformers, switchgear and controls demonstrating the proper use of meters, high-voltage testers, meggers and similar testing equipment to measure the integrity of electrical components and detect faults, hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation and or performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School Technical school required, military training preferred Other Requirements: Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license for the purpose of obtaining a Kuwait driver’s license Must be able to obtain Common Access Card (CAC) Certified & licensed in the field of electro-mechanical, power plant, industrial or electrical required. NICET III Certification in electrical power testing or equivalent military training Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in power generation, distribution, transmission and substation operations and maintenance required Four (4) years of O&M related electrical experience. Preferred Experience: Military and or Contracting experience preferred. Skills: Comprehensive knowledge and skills in the theory, principles, methods and techniques used in the installation, repair, and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems and equipment Knowledge of electrical codes, utility standards and safety programs as governed by rules, regulations and guidelines of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and the NEC Skilled in power plant, substation, & utility voltages (480 volt, 2400 volt, 4160 volt through 13.8 kv) Possess proficient English oral and written communications skills Basic computer skills Supervisory Responsibilities: Will have direct oversight of power plant and generator maintenance personnel Working Conditions: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
