Job Description
Animal Care and Welfare
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals
- Ensure proper feeding, watering, and shelter
- Administer medications and vaccinations
- Schedule and oversee veterinary visits
Farm Operations Management
- Supervise staff and assign daily tasks
- Maintain equipment and infrastructure (barns, fencing, machinery)
- Manage grazing systems or feeding operations
- Oversee breeding programs and birthing processes
Record Keeping and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of livestock (births, sales, health)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Report to regulatory authorities or farm owners
Business and Financial Management
- Develop and manage budgets
- Purchase feed, veterinary supplies, and equipment
- Sell livestock or animal products (milk, wool, meat)
- Forecast and analyze farm productivity
Staff Training and Supervision
- Hire, train, and manage farmhands or animal caretakers
- Schedule shifts and oversee performance
- Promote safety and efficiency among the team
Job Requirements

Education & Experience:
- Preferred Education: Degree or diploma in animal science, agriculture, veterinary studies, or farm management
- Experience: Several years working with large animals, ideally in a leadership or management capacity
