Job Description
1. Emergency Call Response (24/7 Coverage)
- Operate within a 24/7 rotational system: 2 doctors per 12-hour day shifts, 1 doctor on night shifts.
- Answer emergency calls, collect critical patient data (ID, medical history), and evaluate urgency.
2. Patient Identification & Medical Review
- Verify patient identity and documentation in accordance with UNHCR SOPs.
- Review medical history to determine urgency and suitable medical intervention.
3. Hospital Referral & Admission
- Refer patients to the nearest public hospital according to the urgency and nature of the case.
- Ensure timely admission and initiation of life-saving care.
4. Post-Emergency Referral
- Once stabilized, refer the patient to the SHC follow-up team for continued monitoring and care.
- Communicate patient status and needs effectively to ensure seamless care transition.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Document all emergency calls, assessments, and referrals accurately.
- Submit end-of-shift reports detailing patient cases, actions taken, and any operational challenges.
6. Team Coordination
- Collaborate with the Follow-Up Team, Medical Team Leader, Referral Focal Point Doctor, and Section Head.
- Ensure integration of emergency responses with overall project goals.
Job Requirements
1. Education & Certification
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with a valid license to practice.
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
2. Experience
- 2–3 years in emergency medicine, triage, or critical care.
- Experience in telemedicine or refugee healthcare is an advantage.
3. Key Skills
- Excellent communication and critical thinking.
- Competency in patient identification and documentation.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Cultural sensitivity and effective teamwork.
4. Personal Attributes
- Compassionate, adaptable, resilient, and eager to learn.
5. Technical & Operational Requirements
- Computer literacy and basic telemedicine tool usage (preferred).
- Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Strict adherence to UNHCR SOPs and medical ethics.
6. Desirable Qualifications
- Background in public health or humanitarian work.
- Trauma care certification.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
