Job Description
- Support research, manufacturing and clinical testing of clinical, sensory and commercial products
- Be an expert resource and consultant for other members of team both intra- and inter-departmental
- Prepare and present results to internal and external groups
- Work with others within a matrix organization
- Use technology learning to build predictive models for application in drug formulation/enhancement initiatives
- Provide overall management and leadership to R & D Specialists and develop strategy, budgets, and ensuring complete integration of business and R&D plans and activities
- Manage execution of projects to ensure delivery and readiness for commercialization
- Champion the technical design and development, evolution or acquisition of R&D Cross-Functional platforms; direct and influence standards and guidance to source system owners; ensures and experts integration with related functions
- Lead initial pilots to assess applicability of new approaches and/or solutions, when needed; manages and directs transition from experimentation/ piloting to production-readiness when applicable.
- Participate in managing and directing the research and development programs to meet organizational needs and to capitalize on potential new products
- In coordination with superiors, develop and implement research and development procedures and techniques
- Analyze results and provide recommendations based on findings on formulations
- Participate in collecting date of process validation and cleaning validation
- Carry out literature reviews and researches, execute tasks in compliance with current prevailing guidelines
- Develop and set mechanism to ensure compliance of the Polices and vis-à-vis SOPs
- Respond to Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and actively engaged in investigating and solving production problems & customer complaints
- Mange pilot trials to find the best formulation for new products with recommendation
- Establish and maintain a database of chemicals, samples & trials
Job Requirements
- B.Sc. in Pharmacy is essential. Post graduate qualifications is desired (e.g. cGMP, MBA, etc.)
- +15 years previous experience of Pharmaceutical manufacturing and R & D is mandated backed with people management responsibility
- Exposure and hands-on different roles at different manufacturing disciplines (e.g. Production, Quality, Engineering, EHS) is a definite plus
- Experience in solid dosage form formulation
- Experience in methodology is preferred
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional computer and MS-Office skills
- Evidence of identifying, developing, and applying innovative solutions to scientific and technological problems faced in day to day practice
- Demonstrated ability to build robust statistical models from large scientific data sets
- Professional analytical capabilities with mastery problem solving talent
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Superior skills with regards to data analysis and business process analysis and design
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
