Job Description
- Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
- Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
- Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
- Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing.
- Supervising, coach a purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary
- Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable
- Establish strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to strategically develop, implement and optimize vendor management processes, tools and policies to achieve performance objectives.
- Manages the process of contract terminations, expirations, extensions and renewals. Interfaces with/advises peers and corporate management staff with changes or results
- Resolve master schedules and production problems and negotiates lead times.
- Prepare analysis and makes recommendations for changes in material management reporting and control systems.
- Makes recommendations for promotions, merit increases, hiring of prospective employees, and ways to increase productivity.
- Recommends modifications to operating policies.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years experience working as purchasing manager in Industrial/manufacturing environment is a MUST.
- CPIM is a plus
- Deep understanding of ISO Certificates is a plus.
