Job Description
Job Summary:
- Platform Stand up – Software installation
- Change implementation – system upgrades, RMA, automation (scripting)
- Problem Management – Identify service impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long term solutions.
- Incident Mitigation – On call rotation to mitigate incident.
- Work is performed in a 24/7 operations environment. Must be available to work weekends and holidays on an on call basis.
Role and Responsibilities
- System administration of Linux
- Provide 2nd level support of Linux for supported services
- Resolve problems and issues occurred on the Linux servers within the times specified in the SLA
- Work through problems and issues to obtain root cause analysis
- Support planning and install of new operating system releases to maintain software currency.
- Plan and install upgrades/new software, including some local customization.
- Support planning and installation of system software patches to fix identified problems.
- Manage system & software configurations (via change control)
- Manage clusters
Job Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor degree from a reputable university (Communications engineering or computer science background is preferred).
- CI / CD: Git / Jenkins / SaltStack / Docker /Maven/Jira
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Container-orchestration: Kubernetes is a plus
- Deep experience in administration of Linux and Windows systems
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Expert in database administration of : Oracle / MongoDB / PostgreSQL
- J2ee knowledge including spring, JPA, JMS is a plus
- Knowledge of the creation of Linux packaging: rpm/deb
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
