Job Description
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and implement system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior administrators and end-users as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in systems administration or a related role, with a proven track record of managing enterprise-level infrastructure.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Windows Server and/or Linux-based systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid grasp of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.
- Excellent scripting and automation skills using languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Certifications (Optional but beneficial):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSE, Devops
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CompTIA Server+, Network+
