Role summary
A well-established educational institution is seeking a Financial Manager to manage day-to-day finance operations. The role will ensure accurate reporting, effective budget control, timely collections, and compliance with the institution’s financial procedures.
Key responsibilities
Prepare monthly campus accounts, budget-versus-actual reports, and explanations of material variances.
Maintain campus budgets and update forecasts for revenue, enrolment, payroll, and operating costs.
Monitor tuition billing, student balances, instalment collections, refunds, and overdue fees.
Manage campus cash requirements, supplier payments, expense claims, and account reconciliations.
Review payroll inputs, invoices, purchasing documentation, and supporting records.
Maintain financial files and provide schedules and documentation for audit requests.
Apply group finance policies, approval limits, and reporting deadlines.
Work with Admissions, Student Affairs, HR, Procurement, and campus leadership to resolve finance matters.
Raise collection risks, overspending, control weaknesses, and unusual transactions promptly.
Report to the Group Financial Manager and provide information needed for group reporting.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Approximately 5-7 years of relevant finance experience.
Experience in accounting, reconciliations, budgeting, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP or accounting system.
Able to work effectively with campus leaders and administrative teams.
Experience in higher education, schools, or another service-sector organisation is preferred.
ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
