Job Objective:
To perform core accounting tasks, ensuring accurate recording and documentation of daily financial transactions, and assisting in the preparation of timely financial reports in accordance with approved accounting standards and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Daily Journal Entries:
- Record all daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, revenues, etc.).
- Ensure all supporting documents are accurate and properly attached in the accounting system.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Follow up on customer receivables and ensure timely collections.
- Monitor supplier payables and maintain a payment schedule.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
3. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare the monthly trial balance.
- Generate customer and supplier account statements.
- Assist in preparing financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in coordination with the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.
4. Payroll & Employee Entitlements:
- Calculate monthly salaries and employee benefits in coordination with the HR department.
- Record payroll entries including deductions (e.g., social insurance, taxes).
5. Fixed Assets Management:
- Record new fixed assets and track depreciation.
- Participate in periodic physical asset inventory.
6. Tax & Zakat Compliance:
- Prepare quarterly VAT reports.
- Support the preparation of Zakat or tax declarations in coordination with external auditors or tax advisors.
7. Accounting Adjustments:
- Execute monthly bank reconciliations.
- Record accruals and prepayments.
- Perform annual closing entries and year-end adjustments.
8. Document and Record Management:
- Organize and archive all financial records and accounting documents.
- Ensure easy retrieval when required.
9. Audit Support:
- Prepare documents and data required for internal or external audits.
- Respond to auditor inquiries and support audit requirements.
10. Project Cost Centers:
- Allocate expenses and revenues to the appropriate cost centers within the accounting system.
11. Coordination with Head Office:
- Maintain regular communication with the Riyadh finance team.
- Supervise and guide junior or trainee accountants.
- Monitor and follow up on daily accounting tasks.
Required Skills:
- Solid understanding of International (IFRS) or local (SOCPA) accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ODOO, Microsoft Excel).
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Good command of English (for documentation and reporting).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5–10 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Professional certifications (e.g., SOCPA, CPA, CMA) or training in accounting, tax, or Zakat are preferred.
