Role summary
Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient management of financial records. This role involves supervising accounting staff, preparing financial statements, and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
- Oversee general ledger entries, reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
- Review and verify journal entries, accounts payable/receivable.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor variances and provide financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Ensure cost control measures and expense management.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Develop and improve accounting policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.
- Provide training and support to enhance team performance.
- Coordinate with other departments for financial-related matters.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting.
- 5–7 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years supervisor.
- Professional certifications in related field preferably IFRSDIP, CPA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software & Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
