Job Description
- Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection plans for steel structures.
- Develop 2D and 3D models using software like AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or Advance Steel.
- Ensure accurate dimensioning, welding details, and connection design for fabrication.
- Work closely with structural engineers, architects, and fabricators to interpret design specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams to resolve detailing issues.
- Ensure all drawings meet industry standards (AISC, BS, Eurocodes, etc.).
- Perform clash detection and resolve discrepancies between architectural and structural drawings.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and fabricators.
- Ensure compliance with safety, manufacturing, and construction codes.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for fabrication.
- Assist in preparing project cost estimates by calculating steel quantity and weight.
- Maintain documentation and version control of drawings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 -5 years of experience in steel detailing and drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, or SDS/2.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding symbols, and connection detailing.
- Knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, BS, Eurocode, IS, etc.).
