Job Description
Summary
Cerebrus Corporation is a growing Engineering company with a wide range of products and services tailored toward the automation industry.
The company is looking to add to its growing line of mechanical and electromagnetic device products and services as part of the growth. In doing so, Cerebrus is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for mechanical design of various devices and systems related to the manufacturing and automation industries.
Responsibilities:
- Develop concepts for new and innovative mechanical and electro-mechanical devices for the automation industry
- Model and perform mechanical analysis in order to optimize certain variables within a design
- Utilize CAD software to model and design the various products in Solidworks
- Perform FEA analysis on the product designs to observe/improve the effect of load and other factors within the design
- Provide mathematical models and excel based spreadsheets to aid in efficient design of electro-mechanical designs
- Run risk analysis on all designs and develop mitigation plans for risk factors beyond a given threshold
- Design in accordance with the company’s ISO 9001 design procedures and be able to clearly provide detailed design reports in English
- Develop engineering technical data packages and design transfer documents for manufacturing purposes
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Expertise in Solidworks and the various simulation packages is a MUST
- Knowledge and experience in GD&T and the creation of 2D engineering drawings is a plus
- Expertise or ability to quickly learn mechanical FEA software. Electromagnetic FEA is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of electromagnetics and physics
- Ability to communicate and develop reports in the English language
- Creativity, teamwork, and a passion for engineering design are a must.
