Job Description
- Achieve and exceed sales and gross margin budgets as set by Head Office.
- Constantly seek new ways to improve sales and margin for the business.
- Forecasting sales and targets on a monthly basis or as requested, reviewing sales and market potentials.
- Review Sales/Stock and margin reports with Store Managers on a weekly basis identifying all negative factors impacting sales/margin by store, setting/taking actions to build on strengths and improve on weaknesses
- Coaching the store managers to drive sales/margin targets and use available reports effectively
- Ensuring stores are fully prepared on special days and periods to optimize potential.
- Ensure stores implement the guidelines and instructions for company’s pricing and product strategies.
- Develop clear actions alongside the company strategy for specific area of responsibility to ensure sales and margin targets are met or exceeded
- Ensure the stores and staff comply with all the laws relating to selling as laid down by the company.
- Ensure wherever possible that the Company is promoted locally and that their Managers liaise with local schools etc and the community in general.
- Communicating to stores within area of responsibility all relevant information and updates so to ensure compliance with Head Office policies and procedures.
- Conducting regular management appraisals as per company guidelines in order to mutually agree realistic and measurable goals for personal development.
- Liaising with Head Office Personnel Department when considering implementing disciplinary and grievance procedures so that all current Employment Law requirements are being followed at all times.
- Ensure that Store staffing levels/recruitment is kept in line with their agreed budget
- Ensure all members of Management are fully aware of their job responsibilities within the guidelines of their job description.
- Be responsible for general welfare of their management teams through liaison with the HR department.
- Ensure all legal employment notices are displayed and maintained on the notice board as directed by the company.
- Motivate and communicate with all members of the teams on their area to increase sales and ensure efficiency.
- Ensuring that staff appearance is of the highest level.
- Manage and monitor poor staff/management attendance and take action alongside HR accordingly
- Ensure stores manage their annual leave and Time in Lieu in line with company and legal requirements
- Ensuring and monitoring the legal, ethical and personal rights of staff are protected.
- Planning on appointment and relocation of people, forecasting future personnel needs
- Encourage and support staff whom meet the required standard and wish to move to other parts of the business
- Planning the ideal staff quantity for new stores, and following the recruitment process.
- Support and manage to build a strong healthy communication between Area HR specialist and stores
- Monitoring the staff turnover in his/her stores, taking actions in stores with high staff turnover
- Ensure all Store Teams are aware of important changes to HR Policy
- Seek opportunities in a professional manner to attract appropriately skilled and experienced staff/management to the brand from other businesses.Pave the way for people with necessary competencies to other positions horizontally or vertically in line with company/store’s needs, ensuring the most efficient placements.
- Identify the areas for development of team members with high potential, giving feedback and supporting their career development.
- Request trainings in line with the needs of team members, following the results.
- Sharing information on company policies and targets with all of his/her store staff in annual meetings, encouraging them to become a part of the big picture.
- Supporting the area training coaches to achieve their training targets
- Ensure maximum attendance of all training sessions
- Coach underperforming Store Managers to improve and address their areas of development
- Act as a mentor as required to high potential staff/junior management to ensure they are retained and developed effectively
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- 10 -15 years of relevant experience in Fashion Retail with at least 3 - 4 years in a similar supervisory role in Fashion retail operation. (International Fashion Retail Experience is a must)
- Strong Visual Merchandiser knowledge.
- Excellent Command of Written & Spoken English.
- Mobility.
- Strong Managerial Capabilities.
- proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- The ability to dive deep into data and provide thought-provoking, workable business solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
