Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Owning the legal processes for establishing the company according to Egyptian law.
- Ensure the Company’s compliance with applicable laws in Egypt, or international laws and treaties applicable in Egypt.
- Provide guidance and Advice to the Company’s Management on all Corporate governance.
- Represent the Company before Governmental Authorities.
- Participate in the development of the Company’s plans and policies.
- Give legal advice to the Company’s departments and ensure the Company’s alignment and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in the negotiations held by the Company’s management and the Governmental Authority.
- Ensure alignment with the Concession Agreement.
- Negotiate and draft Agreements.
- Secure that the legal department staff is managed effectively.
- Liaison with External Counsels with regard to the Company’s lawsuits and police reports.
- Update the Company’s management of any newly issued laws or regulations that might affect the business.
- Risk and Claims Management, and alignment with Insurance Companies.
§ Ensure the procurement of adequate insurance coverage on the company’s assets and lead the negotiations with Insurance Companies/ brokers for the renewal of insurance policies.
- Ensure Claims with Customers and Third Parties are dealt with in an effective manner and all necessary approvals are obtained.
Managing and handling Containers and Cargo Claims process with shipping lines and Initiating claim process for damages caused by third parties
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Accredited legal qualification from an Egyptian University
- MBA in Maritime Law would be a plus preferable.
- A trade union member.
- Specialized training in Shipping Law, Maritime Law, and the ISPS Code
- Minimum 3-5 years of Experience in the legal field, with a solid experience in Investment Law, Labor Law, Companies Law, Maritime Law, and Customs Law
- Working in container Terminal industry for more than 5 years of experience tackling various claims and operational risk management.
-Requires an advanced level of verbal and written communication skills in English and Strong commercial instincts
