Job Description
- At Gettechforce we help companies build their teams. We currently have over 30 remote developers in Egypt and are looking to expand our team now, by looking for 2 remote Ruby on Rails developers.
- The role will be Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm GMT as the main development hub is in Europe.
- This is a full time role, but you will be a private contractor and responsible for your own taxes / insurance etc. Although I am currently looking at medical insurance and other benefits. It will be 100% remote, so you can work from where ever you want.
- We are currently expanding our team in Egypt, so you will have access to our other developers and we plan on having nights out and events with other team members as we continue to grow.
- GetTechforce and its parent company were formed over 25 years ago and always pay our developers on time without fail. You will never have to worry about being paid on time.
THE ROLE
As a Ruby engineer in the product team, things you will work on include:
- Continuous development of our web platform to serve customers, employees and partners as we launch in new countries.
- Building a top-class user experience throughout the application.
- Ensuring traceability of actions throughout our payroll process.
- Automation of payments integrations relating to invoicing and employee payroll.
- Building internal tooling to allow Boundless Payroll and HR staff to serve our customers efficiently.
- Delivering quality code that adheres to best practices; participating in code review.
- Advocating for implementation of best practices within the team and the technology.
- Consolidating our approach to testing and quality assurance.
- Integrating with third party APIs to achieve desired functionality within our systems.
- Data security and compliance with data regulations.
- Getting involved in customer support.
Job Requirements
Be part of the team managing our backend and web platforms.
Work closely together with the rest of our small team on improving all parts of our product.
Be a key factor in choosing the tools and technologies we use.
Keeping technical debt down is a high priority for us. We are currently cleaning house and want your help with this.
Develop and test new features together with your colleagues.

What we expect you to bring with you
Many years of experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent knowledge of MVC architectures.
An open and positive work attitude.
An understanding that testing and CI are core to developing.
Fluent in Ruby, and very interested in how to best structure code. Experience in structuring and dealing with relational databases. Fluent English speaker. German skills a plus.
Eager to learn new things, and a desire to apply yourself to your work.
