Job Description
- Timely preparation of detailed engineering proposal for the company projects.
- Accurately interpret client’s technical specification and produce a compliant technical proposal, offering more suitable alternatives where appropriate.
- Accurately interpret client’s and NMDC’s commercial requirements and ensure any commercial or contractual risks to the company are identified and mitigated.
- Ensure all technical, contractual, schedule and cost estimation and design engineering input needed to meet proposal requirements is collected & communicate these to the respective stakeholders.
- Ensure proposals and estimating is in line with company’s agreed strategies
- Act as a single point of contact for client and undertake a negotiating role when preparing costed proposals in coordination with proposal manager.
- Arrange and take a lead role in ‘bid review’, ‘bid clarification’, and handover meetings.
- Write high quality technical and commercial documents and reports and present them to both internal and external teams.
- Liaise with internal stake holders to assist in collating accurate data for the preparation of proposals.
- Maintain a sales and marketing focus in all proposals related activity and in contacts with stakeholders
- Analyze tender files and define and distribute the activities that need to be carried out in order to finalize the tender.
- Identify tender associated risks and opportunities and determine mitigation actions.
- Collaborate closely with, estimation division and with, design- and method Engineer & Legal Department.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Certifications;
- Bachelor’s degree in Process/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in practical engineering role.
- Familiarity with Commercial/Technical review processes.
- Certification & Membership: Relevant certification is an advantage
Function specific experience
- Familiarity with control systems (DCS/SCADA/PLC).
- Familiarity with drawing packages such as AutoCAD and MS Visio
- Good self-discipline and an ability to meet demanding schedule requirements whilst maintaining high quality work.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in written work.
- Structured approach to work with the ability to set, and work to, agreed timescales
