Job Description
The school counselor should be a caring, inspirational, passionate,creative and innovative member of staff. He/She should be an outstanding motivator and communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills, and should be capable of being an effective member of the school and supporting the school community through a stimulating, and well-organised environment.
He/She will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement effective school counselling programs to meet students’ needs
- Plan and organize classroom counselling sessions to address career, academic, and personal development among students
- Assist students in understanding and overcoming social, behavioral or learning problems
- Provide group or individual counselling to address the needs of students.
- Monitor and observe students to identify and address personal, emotional or social issues.
- Refer students to health psychologists for proper attention
- Consult with families and staff to highlight students’ needs and discuss strategies necessary for improving social and learning performance
- Listen to students’ concerns and offer effective recommendations in addressing learning or psychological problems.
- Guide and support school staff in implementing school advisory programs
- Organise Seminars to educate students / parents on sensitive topics such as peer pressure, social pressure .....etc.,
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Degree in Counseling is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience in school counseling field.
- An International School graduate is preferred.
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
- A positive and teachable attitude
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
