Job Description

Purpose of the position 

A contract project engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and negotiating construction contracts on behalf of their employer.  Collaborates with engineers, and other subcontractors to ensure that the project runs smoothly and on time. Maintains contractual records and documentation of all contract correspondence, customer contact information, contractual changes, and status reports.

Tasks

  • Support the Technical office Manager, project engineers, and team members in planning, scheduling tasks, and developing integrated construction documentation.
  • Revises Tender documents in order to fully understand the project's contractual & technical scope.
  • Reviews contractual variations before submitting them to management for approval.
  • Ensuring that the administration of contracts by projects is carried out in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
  • Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance, and adopting best practices.
  • Preparing contractual correspondence in English and Arabic.
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation of all contract correspondence, customer contact information, contractual changes, and status reports.
  • Drafting different types of contracts, with a good awareness of risk allocation.
  • Support in preparing contract review reports.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is a must.
  • 5:7 years of experience in contract administration and quantity survey functions for contracting industry operations.
  • Previous experience in a contracting company.
  • Strong working knowledge of administering FIDIC and other similar contract formulation standards.
