Job Description
The Internal Audit Accountant is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organization's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role involves conducting financial and operational audits, identifying areas of inefficiency or non-compliance, and recommending improvements to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct internal audits under the annual audit plan, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases.
• Evaluate internal controls, accounting processes, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data, records, and systems to detect irregularities, errors, or fraud.
• Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation and resolution.
• Assist in risk assessments and contribute to developing the annual audit plan.
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Provide support for special investigations and ad hoc projects.
• Stay up to date with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and internal audit best practices.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in internal auditing, public accounting, or corporate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, internal control systems, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently. - • Strong experience with ERP systems.
