Job Description
- Perform cost analysis for manufacturing operations, including material costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses.
- Develop and maintain standard costing models to accurately calculate product costs and evaluate variances.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, production schedules, and procurement activities to optimize cost efficiency.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to cost accounting, including variance analysis and recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing insights into cost trends and projections.
- Participate in inventory management activities, including cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies related to cost accounting practices.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in cost accounting or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required.
