Job Description
- Implements complex database designs for the core enterprise applications, including software installation, creation, tuning, and management of all production and non-production databases.
- Work closely with programmers and provides direction on effective efficient queries, appropriate indexing, and overall integrity to insure a high performance environment.
- Establishes and recommends policies on database use and services.
- Configures database access and allocates database resources for optimum configuration and performance.
- Provide complex problem analysis, determination and resolution using industry standard utilities/tools as well as creative thinking.
Job Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience
Technical Requirements:
Must be able to demonstrate detailed technical knowledge in the following areas:
- DB2 Database Administration on Linux and Windows
- Database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- DB2 backup and recovery techniques
- Database upgrades and patches
- Knowledge in the following areas is a plus:
- IBM Infosphere and Websphere software stack
- IBM Cloudant
- Microsoft SQL
