Job Description
- Program Development & Management:
- Design, implement, and continuously evaluate a comprehensive and varied recreation program tailored to the demographics of the resort's guests (e.g., families, couples, international tourists).
- Include activities such as water sports (snorkeling, diving support, aqua aerobics), beach games, pool activities, fitness classes, children's programs, evening entertainment (shows, live music, themed nights), cultural activities, and excursions.
- Develop weekly and daily activity schedules, ensuring variety, balance, and appropriate timing.
- Proactively seek new ideas and trends in leisure and entertainment to keep programs fresh and exciting.
- Monitor guest participation and feedback to adjust and improve programs.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of recreation staff, animators, and activity coordinators.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, energetic, and guest-focused work environment.
- Ensure all staff are well-versed in activity protocols, safety procedures, and guest service standards.
- Manage staff scheduling, breaks, and leave to ensure adequate coverage.
- Guest Experience & Satisfaction:
- Actively engage with guests to promote activities, gather feedback, and address concerns.
- Ensure all recreation areas and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and safe for use.
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all guests.
- Handle guest complaints and challenging situations professionally and effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering) to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Establish and enforce strict safety guidelines and procedures for all recreational activities and equipment, particularly for water-based activities.
- Ensure all staff are trained in first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures relevant to their roles.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and accidents.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the recreation department's budget, including forecasting, expense tracking, and cost control.
- Oversee the procurement, inventory, and maintenance of recreation equipment and supplies.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation through paid activities or special events.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Work with the marketing and guest relations teams to effectively promote recreation programs and events to guests through various channels (e.g., in-room information, digital screens, social media, welcome briefings).
- Ensure all promotional materials are accurate, appealing, and regularly updated.
- Administrative & Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on activity participation, guest feedback, budget performance, and team performance.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training, certifications, and attendance.
- Attend management meetings and contribute to overall resort strategy.
Job Requirements

- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
