Job Description
- Has knowledge of cost accounting.
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely delivery of required documentation.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial deadlines are met.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports and statements for management review.
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office environment.
- Experience in leading or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
