Job Description
Action Against Hunger, funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has been implementing Health Match Khosos Project to contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality rates of the residents in the deprived informal area of Khosos - Qalyubeya, through the improvement of the health services. Action Against Hunger is looking for a qualified project officer to assist the head of project with project activities.
POSITION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
Objective 1: Project Management: implementation of the Health and Nutrition activities of the project
- Assist the head of project to set up and start the project activities.
- Assist the head of project on preparing training materials and facilitating trainings on infant and Young child feeding (Breastfeeding, ante and post-natal care)
- Participate in conducting baseline and end line surveys.
Objective 2: Infant and Young Child Feeding IYCF
- Act as an effective member in promoting, supporting and protecting IYCF practices (give IYCF awareness sessions and IYCF individual counselling sessions as necessary).
- Give support to IYCF team members and volunteers as necessary
- Assist in the development and review of educational material
- Prepare training materials and conduct IYCF trainings when necessary
- Make sure all IYCF databases are regularly filled and submitted (awareness sessions database, database of counselled cases
- Provide support for the health facility staff on management of the health
Objective 3: Administrative and logistics management Activities
- Assist head of project on administrative and logistic aspects of the project activities. (…)
Objective 4: Reporting and coordination Activities
- Participate to creation/revision of project tools
- Realize a weekly and monthly report
- Participate to external reports if needed
- Ensure coordination with partners on the field on request of the supervisors

Job Requirements
- Public health Graduate or under graduate certificate, masters, nurse, mid-wife, nutritionist, maternal and child health, global health or social science background with experience in working in health or nutrition sector in humanitarian settings.
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting, supporting and protecting breastfeeding and complementary feeding, Good communication skills and able to write reports, Capacity to supervise, train and coach staff
- Fluent written and spoken English.
