Job Description
- Managing the design activities for large complex projects and or multiple small to moderate projects.
- Assign projects and tasks to staff consisting of engineers, designers, and CADD draftsman of various experience levels.
- Develop manpower forecasts, interview and hire engineering discipline candidates.
- Responsible for the administration and execution of all project discipline agreements, definition of the scope of work, accountable for project profitability and development of project work plan.
- Responsible for identifying training needs for subordinates and implementing department training plan.
- Develop discipline specific technical knowledge.
- Support project controls related to engineering
- Manage others to ensure successful delivery of scope related items, and provide mentorship and coaching to support rapid employee development Interface with existing and new clients
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in the design of engineering systems for all types of building facilities including large and complex projects
- The ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Fluency in a foreign language is considered a benefit for this position Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Experience to include three years as senior engineer on large project and project team management experience.
- Problem solving using systematic approach to define inputs, outputs, assumptions, issues, acceptance criteria, methodology, and conclusions. Must have good written and verbal technical communication skills including writing reports, emails, and presentations at various organizational levels (peers, internal clients, and external clients).
- Coordinates technical issues with other departments on projects, including constructability requirements/considerations.
- Knowledge on technical decision making methodology, including evaluating alternative solutions.
- Familiar with electrical power system calculations and understands electrical software for calculating building lighting, street lighting, sportive lighting, earthling, lightning protection, short circuit, motor starting, voltage drop, harmonic current, full selectivity and arc flash. Knowledge of power generation equipment including engines, generator sets, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFD), motor control center (MCC), and transformers.
- Familiar with major regulations and international local codes and standards affecting standard design work in designated discipline.
- Working knowledge of project management tools including cost estimations, contracts, and scheduling.
