Job Description
- Facility Inspections & Maintenance
- Oversee the general upkeep of the facility to ensure consistent quality and cleanliness.
- Perform weekly walk-through inspections with action items if needed (walls, holds, mats, ropes, harnesses, lockers, showers, weights).
- Maintain an updated maintenance & inspection log with issues, completion dates, and costs.
- Coordinate repairs with subcontractors (HVAC, lighting, matting, plumbing, wall structure).
- Ensure gym opening and closing procedures are followed.
- Perform holds cleaning during route setting.
- Clean AC filters three times per week.
- Handle route setting maintenance (unscrewing stuck holds).
- Safety & Compliance
- Inspect climbing walls, safety mats, ropes, and harnesses on schedule.
- Review belay tests and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Document facility-related incidents with the Operations Executive.
- Maintain the incident log (injuries, safety violations).
- Enforce health & safety rules (spotting, belaying, shoe policy).
- Equipment & Gear Management
- Track all equipment and gear at the facility.
- Keep detailed logs of equipment condition.
- Organize and maintain storage areas for holds, tools, and spare parts.
- Cleanliness & Hygiene Oversight
- Supervise cleaning staff to ensure:
- Lockers, bathrooms, and café seating are cleaned daily.
- Floors, mats, and climbing surfaces are vacuumed/dusted.
- Outdoor areas and seating remain tidy.
- Ensure consumables (toilet paper, tissues, soap, sanitizers) are stocked.
- Coordination
- Provide weekly maintenance and inspection reports.
- Coordinate facility expenses with the Operations Manager for accurate bookkeeping.
- Work with the Café Manager on café equipment maintenance.
- Out-of-Location Events
- Manage external events and logistics.
- Organize transportation.
- Oversee installation and setup.
- Customer Service & Check-Ins
- Greet customers warmly and professionally.
- Manage check-ins, membership validations, and day pass sales.
- Upsell memberships, packages, and café items.
- Provide tours of the facility to new visitors.
- Answer phone calls promptly.
- Sales & Upselling
- Actively promote memberships, packages, and café items.
- Suggest upgrades to customers based on usage (e.g., packages for frequent climbers).
- Promote upcoming events, courses, and competitions.
- Café Support
- Prepare coffee, smoothies, and snacks to café standards.
- Restock shelves and fridges as needed.
- Report stock shortages to the Café Manager.
- Facility & Safety Awareness
- Monitor the climbing floor casually during shifts to spot unsafe behavior.
- Ensure only belay-certified climbers use rope walls.
- Admin & Cash Handling
- Reconcile cash/POS at the end of each shift.
- Keep the front desk organized and presentable.
- Record all sales accurately in Climbmanager.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility management, gym operations, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and security standards relevant to fitness or recreation facilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Physical capability to perform inspections and minor repairs throughout the facility.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service to members and guests.
