Job Description
- Coordinate the procurement of goods and services required for ship management operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to gather requirements, negotiate terms, and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels and track orders to ensure adequate supply of materials and equipment for ongoing projects.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and related documentation in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Evaluate supplier performance, resolve discrepancies, and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information for audit and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to coordinate the delivery and distribution of goods to vessels and other locations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
- Support the finance department with invoice verification, payment processing, and budget tracking.
- Stay updated on market trends, new products, and best practices in purchasing and supply chain management.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and procurement best practices.
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
