Job Description

Customs Clearance:

  • Submit customs clearance requests for imported or exported goods.
  • Provide all required customs documents, such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping-related documents.

Compliance with Customs Laws:

  • Ensure that goods comply with local and international customs regulations.
  • Ensure the proper payment of customs duties and taxes on imported or exported goods.

Preparation of Customs Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for customs, such as permits and certificates.
  • Ensure that the documents are accurate and complete to avoid delays or fines.

Communication with Customs Authorities:

  • Communicate with marine and air customs authorities to expedite the clearance process.
  • Follow up with customs authorities and submit any required documents to resolve issues.

Coordination with Shipping Companies:

  • Work with shipping companies (both maritime and air) to organize the transportation of goods and ensure they reach the correct destination.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure they arrive at their final destination on time.

Legal and Commercial Advice:

  • Provide advice to clients on customs laws, required documentation, and applicable fees.
  • Offer guidance on how to reduce customs costs and streamline procedures.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and address any potential risks that could affect the customs clearance process.
  • Provide solutions to avoid delays or fines resulting from non-compliance with customs requirements.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor degree in trade, business administration or a related field is typically required.
  • Previous experience in customs clearance or working with marine and air customs is often preferred.
