Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to manage, direct and maintain Greenish’s accounting system. The Accountant reviews, analyzes, reconciles, and balances program and OE-funded accounting records and systems for Greenish.
Job Requirements
1- Record, process, control, and report on all activities. It is the responsibility of the accountant to:
a) Perform appropriate funding accounting operations;
b) Ensure that all accounting systems are in place for Greenish programs and activities;
c) Ensure proper application of accounting principles, practices, rules, and regulations; and
d) Efficiently control and maintain all funded activities in the accounting system.
2- The accountant manages the processing of budget allowances, program elements, commitments, and obligations of funds.
3- Accounting Reports:
a) Provide timely, accurate, periodic, and last-minute financial reports which include preparing and presenting financial reports.
b)Consults with various clients, analyzes the information requirements, designs, and
generates standard and tailored financial reports from the official accounting data.
4- Specific Tasks Include
a)Provide advice to technical and support all types of accounting transactions. Review
documentation in draft related to sub-commitments, commitments, sub-obligations
and obligations, for substance and funds availability, in accordance with Donors' Regulations.
b)Record draft and final accounting transactions into the Accounting System, as appropriate,
upon receipt of the corresponding documents.
c)Review for correctness, fiscal reports for Mission, including pipeline reports by
project/program and source of funding. In addition, develop routine/quarterly financial reports
showing obligations, sub-obligations, disbursements, and pipelines.
d)Conduct a continuous, quarterly, and mandatory year-end review of unexpended obligated balances.
