Job Description

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for preparing & updating projects’ BOQs and calculating quantities.
  • Review schematic designs of new projects received from the design team, to verify their compliance with local building codes & regulations.
  • Responsible for the technical revision of all architecture drawings, at different phases of the work progress.
  • Responsible for reviewing structure & MEP drawings and technical coordination between all disciplines.
  • Responsible for reviewing all shop drawings received from contractors.
  • Responsible for communicating with contractors & suppliers.
  • Responsible for creating any required construction details.
  • Responsible for regularly updating the “Construction Details Library”.
  • Responsible for regularly updating the “Vendors List” of manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Responsible for responding to RFIs and site queries.
  • Attend meetings with consultants, contractors, suppliers & client representatives as needed.
  • Reporting to the Manager Tech. Office Engineer.

     

Job Requirements

Skills & job requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree of Mechanical power /or electrical engineering (with 5-7 years of experience in technical office).
  • Computer proficiency: AutoCAD, Word and Excel are a must. REVIT is an asset.
  • Professional English language.
  • Proven experience with technical drawings and details.
  • Extensive knowledge of preparing BOQs (in both Arabic & English languages) including quantity survey.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structure & electro-mechanical design concepts and strong coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of design standards, local codes and government regulations.
  • Possession of great work ethics, high degree of integrity and willingness to put in the hours whenever needed.
  • High organization skills and ability to prioritize & concurrently service multiple projects.
  • Ability to manage own time.
  • Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • A good eye for details.
  • Ability to work & perform under pressure.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other team members.
